John Redman

I remember when the Town Hall was the seat of government for Wear Valley District Council. As a young teacher I became President of the local branch of the National Union of Teachers and we had our meetings in the Council Chamber sitting on the green leather seats. It was an honour to sit in the Council Leader's seat.
